Our company believes in balancing hardscaping and softscaping to create an appealing aesthetic combined with a practical layout. We incorporate multiple variables throughout the development process to optimize the space and meet our customers’ expectations.

Softscaping

Softscaping uses plants like ground covers, annual flowers, bulbs, perennials, shrubs, and evergreen and deciduous trees. Our goal is to blend soft and hardscaping elements to create a cohesive design representing functional beauty. Depending on the project, we may include low voltage night lighting, pottery, and trellises to enhance the effect. We strive to develop a comfortable and pleasing atmosphere that our customers can enjoy for many years to come.

Hardscaping

Hardscaping incorporates hard materials such as brick, pavers, and stone. These products are popular for patios, walkways, retaining walls, decorative garden walls, driveways, and staircases.

First Steps

First, we analyze the job site. Understanding the site’s sun exposure is critical in selecting plants. We’ll determine which areas are full sun, partial sun, or shade. We will also carefully analyze whether there is coastal exposure since salt spray and harsh winds can harm plants that are not coastal condition tolerant.

Deer Potential

Another key element is deer; they can ruin a landscape in a single evening. If the area has deer, we’ll include deer-resistant plants in our design.

Maintenance

Spring Yard Cleanup

We can prune plants, remove dead organic material, apply fertilizer, add weed preventative to flower and shrub beds, or install the mulch of your choice. We’ll then remove all debris, including leaves, brush, and twigs, leaving your yard in pristine condition, ready to welcome spring and summer.

Fall Yard Cleanup

We also provide fall cleanup services, typically completed once all the leaves are down. This service may include fall pruning on certain plants, raking, blowing, and removal of all leaves, with a mulch top up if necessary.

Debris Removal

If you have unwanted furniture or other items, we take those too. We’ll make them disappear to a local recycling facility or transfer station.

Light Demolition

Our light demolition services can remove old sheds, fencing, and other small structures. We always make sure all debris is hauled to the proper facility.

Painting Services

HHS provides a year-round interior painting service with exterior painting service April through October. We also power wash and re-stain decks in the spring and fall. We can provide the custom painting service you need, whether for a bathroom or a complete color neutralization of your home’s interior before you put it on the market. We’re sure you’ll be impressed with our skill and attention to detail.

Power Washing Services

Aside from the importance of power washing when refinishing a deck or upgrading exterior painting, we also offer it as a stand-alone service. We take a uniform approach that provides consistent and impressive results, from weathered paver driveways, walkways, and patios to algae and moss-covered surfaces.
